EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum Certifications Required: MCSE, CCNA, or equivalents (Applicants without minimum required or equivalent certifications will NOT be considered)
  • Preferred Certifications: PMP, Cisco, Juniper, or HP network certifications
  • Other certifications helpful, but not required

SKILLS & QUALITIES

  • Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Project management skills required
  • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, serving multiple clients each day
  • Microsoft Office applications must be core competencies

EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years networking experience (CISCO, Microsoft Server, or equivalent)
  • 5 years project management experience
  • 2 years managing client relationships
  • Understanding of data center and structured cabling system design principles
  • Experience with local government, school districts, or other public entities a plus
  • Video security and VoIP experience helpful

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support multiple clients each day, including high-level strategy, assessments, project management, and network upgrades
  • Manage multiple projects with multiple staff and consultants on each team
  • Evaluate and analyze clients’ information systems needs and requirements
  • Develop and recommend technology solutions
  • Administer changes and adjustments to systems, as needed
  • Design, develop, and test disaster recovery plans and procedures
  • Recommend the purchase of new systems using government procurement best practices
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures for IT operations
  • Prepare specifications for bid documents; review and evaluate contracts and proposals
  • Ability to write memorandum and reports at a management consulting level for delivery to C-Level executives
  • Work with vendor representatives to identify and correct causes of hardware and software malfunctions and to perform enhancements
  • Respond to and resolve difficult inquiries and complaints
  • Provide emergency response to reduce down-time, correct errors, monitor vendor activity, diagnose system failures, and conduct off-hours scheduled and as-needed maintenance
  • Assist in developing, planning, implementing, and administering goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
